Friday Night Magic (FNM)

Play the scheduled FNM format and win an official FNM foil. These cards are awarded two ways: to the top to winners, plus randomly awarded to two additional participants. Everyone has a chance to win! Players keep all cards they receive. A certified Judge is available to answer questions, or teach the game. Dream Wizards hosts Magic: the Gathering Events on a regular basis. Most tournaments are held on store premises. Periodically, larger events are held in another location. We organize many more Magic tournaments then what you will find on this web page.

Sanctioned Legacy Tournaments

This tournament will run concurrently with regularly scheduled FNM events. Bring a friend or two and come on down!

Pure Legacy - constructed with absolutely NO PROXIES

Registration:

6:00; play begins at 6:40.

Fee:

$8.

Description:

Straight Swiss rounds, no finals.

Prizes:

If 8 players register: 6-4-2-2 pack prize, with additional packs based on attendance.

FNM tournaments are sanctioned by the DCI. Bring your DCI number with you! If you do not have a number, we will provide one free of charge. Please bring your own land!

Format Descriptions:

1. Type 2 Standard, with pack prize:

Description:

Bring a deck containing a minimum of 60 Type 2-legal cards. Check your deck out with our judge before the tournament begins. We run 3 rounds, minimum eight players. All players may participate in every round, win or lose! No finals.

Prizes:

In addition to giving out the FNM foil Promos, booster packs are awarded based on attendance. For example, if 24 people participate in the tournament the following prize structure will be used: 12 packs for 1st place, 9 packs for 2nd place, 3 packs for 3rd-4th place, 1 pack each for 5th-8th place. Foils go to the top two finishers, plus two prize foils are randomly awarded to participants.

2. Sealed

$26+ tax

Format:

Build a deck with a minimum of 40 cards using a 6 booster packs. We run 3 rounds. All players may participate in every round, win or lose! No finals.

Prizes:

FNM foil Promos awarded to the top two finishers, plus two prize foils are randomly awarded to participants. Booster pack prizes to top finishers.

3. Booster Drafts with Swiss Rounds

Fee:

$15+ tax

Format:

This format requires a minimum of 8, but can accommodate ANY number of players 8 and above. Players draft 3 booster packs in roughly even pods. Build a deck of 40 cards. Play 3 rounds of Swiss. All players may participate in every round, win or lose! No finals.

NOTE:

If the total of players is 8, this format will be run as a traditional single-elimination booster draft.

FNM foil Promos awarded to the top two finishers, plus two prize foils are randomly awarded to participants. Booster pack prizes to top finishers.

4. 2-Headed Giant (2HG)

Fee:

$18 +tax per player; two players per team.

Format:

Bring a teammate of choice, or If you want to play and don't have someone to play with, let us know - we'll do what we can to match you up.

Each team builds 2 decks using 8 boosters + land (provided). Format: 3 Swiss rounds: Win or loose, all teams play every round. And, in this friendly format teammates are permitted to talk strategy throughout play! Stress free opportunity to try out an organized play event!

Prizes:

FNM foil Promos awarded to the top finishing team, plus two prize foils are randomly awarded to another participating team.

Booster pack prizes to top finishers.

5. Booster Drafts on Demand

$14+ tax. 3 packs per person & a 12-pack prize pool for top finishers.

Booster Draft Land Policy:

Please Bring Your Own, otherwise (for the time being) Basic Land is available for those who need to borrow it for the evening. Please return land to the land box when you've finished playing for the evening.
