Format:

Sealed tournament, we supply the cards you need to play. Build a 40-minimum card deck using 6 x Magic: 2011 booster packs (additional land is available). 4-round tournament (approximately 5 hours). Win or lose, players may participate in all rounds. This tournament is open to all players; Appropriate for 1st time tournament players.

Prizes:

Release Event Promo cards will be given to registrants on a first come, first served basis. Magic: 2011 booster packs will be awarded at the end of Swiss rounds, based on attendance.

Sanctioned Booster Draft

Time:

8-person Booster Drafts Start as they fill, beginning at Noon. Last Draft begins at 5PM.

Entry Fee:

$15+ tax

Description:

Players draft 3 Magic: 2011 Booster Packs and build a deck. Play is single-elimination rounds.

Prize:

1st = 8 packs, 2nd = 4 packs.

Group Game Booster Draft (Casual Format)

Fee:

$15+ tax, includes 4 booster packs per person & prizes.

Description:

Fast-paced, fun format for 4 - 6 players.
Draft as usual, but with 4 packs; the play is a Free-For-All group game, all players for themselves! The format allows greater use of a variety of cards, and combinations go off that would not necessarily work 1 on 1. Play defense, attack multiple players at once, use big & slow cards better than ever before! Prizes for top 3 players in a 6-player game.

Format:

Standard, Type 2. Bring a deck that has a minimum of 60 cards and is tournament legal.
Please Note All of these sets are Legal for this tournament: Shards of Alara, Conflux, Alara Reborn, Zendikar, Worldwake, Rise of Eldrazi, Magic 2010, Magic 2011.

Tournament Structure:

Modified Swiss style, with the Top 8 playing in a single-elimination format for prizes, a Pro Tour invitation & airfare. Swiss rounds are 50 minutes, best 2:3 games.
The number of rounds of Swiss is based on attendance.
For example, if 129 or more players attend we will run 8 Swiss rounds plus finals.
All players may participate in all Swiss rounds.

Prizes:

The award for 1st place winner is an invitation to Pro Tour Amsterdam, and airfare to the Pro Tour location! Booster packs awarded to top finishers based on the number of participants.

Notes:

Players must bring pen, paper, card sleeves and appropriate counters.

Booster Drafts:

Description:

50 minute rounds; Modified Swiss with cut to top 4 or 8, depending on participation.
All players may participate in all Swiss Rounds no matter if they win or lose.
There will be 4 or 5 Swiss Rounds. Single-elimination Finals are untimed.

Prizes:

Byes are awarded based on attendance (see below):
1st wins a 3-round bye at GP-Columbus (July 30- Aug 1).
Pack prizes to top finishers, based on a prize pool of 2.5 packs per player entered in tournament.

Number of 3 Round Byes:

8 – 32 players = 1 Bye
33 – 64 players = 2 Byes
65 – 128 players = 4 Byes.
