Description:
In war, the actions of a few warriors can turn the tide of action dramatically impacting the entire war's final outcome. The self-proclaimed Orc Tyrant, BroadPauch, has laid siege to Imperium citizens of the planet, Minos 7. Greenskins and other foul Xenos rampage. As do creatures from the warp, some who have turned traitor to the Emperor. Players, bring up to 1000 points of their favorite 40K army. Battle on 4x4 tables in a Swiss-style tournament. Each army should include 1 HQ and 2 Troops choices. Models must be assembled. Proxies are not permitted. While your army does not need to be painted, those armies which are painted will receive a random battle card that they can use to their advantage during any of their battles, and may turn the tide of the battle in their favour. The winning faction will determine a Special Event at the Megabattle to take place at Dream Wizards on December 15th- Da Green Tyrant of Minos 7.

Prizes will be awarded to:
1) Best General- Determined by win/loss and then Victory Points.
2) Fan favorite- The player who gave it his all, a great player and sportsman who added something special to the game!
3) Best Looking- This army stands out for theme and the painting and/or conversation work. A truly fearsome sight to see!
4) Presenting the "Dreaded Pub Quiz" (no mead provided), where any player can win a prize for being the most knowledgeable on all things in the 41 millennium.

Games Workshop 40K Iron Builder: Tank 'n' Spank

The price of entry is one Games Workshop tank purchased at Dream Wizards on this day.
You may reserve your tank in advance by email to Doug <djmaclure@gmail.com.
Tank reservations are guaranteed if received on or before December 2.
Others may choose from stock on hand up until the day of the event.

Description:
You are invited to arrive at Dream Wizards by Noon and purchase any tank from the 40K line.  From Noon to 2:30 PM you will build your tank just as fast as you can. After time is called play a game of 40K using your tank in a field of tanks that each person built. If your model is incomplete effects will be in place. For example, if you did not put the treads on your tank then your vehicle is immobilized and so forth. The player with the last tank standing claims the prize- a free Baneblade tank!

 

 

 


Miniatures Open Play

Every Thursday from 4 to 10 PM - No Charge. Thursday is our long-standing miniatures gaming night. A variety of players, painters and miniatures systems games are always on hand. Join a league, play a pick up game, arrange to meet up with friends. Due to the ongoing nature of this group, players drop by regularly or show up whenever they can; either way, all are welcome. Tables and terrain on hand for your use. Or, contribute a piece of your own crafted scenery for the evening! Bring your unpainted, painting-in-progress, and your masterpiece figures. Some of the regularly played games are: Warhammer: 40k, Warhammer: Fantasy, Confrontation: Dogs of War, Warmachine, Hordes, and Star Wars Miniatures .


 

DC Miniature Painters Club

The DC Miniature Painters Club Meets at Dream Wizards on Sunday, February 25 from 12-6PM. The DC Miniature Painters (DCMP) are an informal group of friendly painters who get together approximately once a month or so at Dream Wizards to paint, talk and share techniques. Meeting dates are posted on the Dream Wizards site as well ason the calendar at our group page on Yahoo groups (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DCAreaMiniPaintingClub/). In addition to a calendar, the yahoo group also hosts online discussions about the hobby and acts as our central repository for information about the group happenings, questions and answers to vexing problems related to painting miniature figures and a lot of great pictures of fantastic figures. Check out the group online and stop by Dream Wizards to join us in the fun. At our meetings there is quite an array of paint, glue, brushes, unfinished and completed projects spread out across a bank of tables. New participants are always welcome! Please bring your own supplies if you have them and pull up a chair. If you are new to the hobby, we are always willing to help with advice, use of materials, an d friendly encouragement.

Warmachine/ Hordes Tournament
A sanctioned Privateer Press tournament run by a Press Ganger.

11 AM to Noon. Play begins at Noon.
500 Point armies. You may used either Hordes or Warmachine armies. Figures must be assembled, but they do not have to be painted.

Warhammer 40K: Limited Resources League

League starts on March 24th 2007. The end date will be based on attendance.
Please note: All army lists must be submitted by Dreamwizard's closing time on friday march 23rd.

Fee:
$ 5.00. Fees will be used for prizes, awarded to the leaguewinners, and to the best looking army.
Description:
Players bring their favorite 40K army to Dream Wizards, and during the week, play predetermined opponents using missions randomly picked from Rouge Trader tournaments. Each of the missions will be posted on the miniature bulletin board in the store. Each army will be 1500 points, fully assembled and WYSISWG. They do not need to pained, but at the end of the league, an award will be given for best looking army.

Each army will be 1500 points, and an army list must be presented to the League Administer, and also be present when playing. The army list cannot change weekly. Also each army must contain 1, and only 1, Fast Attack, Elite and Heavy. You may use Forge World models and rules. But if choose this option, please bring the appropriate books that contain the rules to each game you play.

When you and your opponent show up at the store to play you will be given a result sheet. Once you finish the game, turn the sheet in to an employee. If you can not make a weekly game, you will forfeit that game. Each week, results will be posted on the Dream Wizards website. The information will be posted on the Goggle Calendar under the title, 40K League. Each game week will run from Monday to Sunday; with the exception of the first week, which will run from the kick off date, March 24 through Sunday April 1.
