Pokemon League

Time:

Most Sundays (check Calendar) 1 to 5 p.m.
We are flexible; arrive when you can, stay as long as you like.

Free:

The Pokemon League is a great way for players of all ages to get together and hone their skills in a casual setting.

Play a game, learn to play, teach someone new, improve your deck, trade, etc. League members are rewarded for participating (win or lose). The more you play, the more you earn! Players earn exclusive promo cards and promotional items. A POP ID is required to earn league prizes. If you do not have a Pokémon Organized Play number, we have them on hand. Or, you can register Here.

Materials:

If you are familiar with the game, bring at least one 60-card deck. You may also purchase a deck at the store (approximately $15). Don't worry if you don't have a great deck - League players will be happy to suggest improvements!

Weekly Tournament Description:

Participation in the tournament is voluntary, but most kids enjoy it! The League Leader will collect a minimal contribution (usually $2) and apply the funds toward booster pack prizes. Standard Rules apply: a deck contains exactly 50 cards and 16 triggers. No more than 4 copies of any individual cards, with the exception of Energy cards. English cards only allowed. Weekly tournaments begins at 1 p.m.

Pokémon Prerelease Tournaments

General Description

Prerelease tournaments are exciting events designed for Pokemon players to use the newest cards in a tournament setting prior to the official on sale date. These casual tournaments are an ideal setting for new players to learn how tournaments work. Experienced players enjoy collecting and creating new decks. Pokemon Professors (Judges) are on hand to assist those who have questions or need help! All participants receive a "prerelease"-stamped promo card, while supplies last.

January/February, May, July/August, October/November

Upcoming Date:

Registration begins at 11 a.m., and ends at 11:45 a.m.

Swiss Rounds (play every Round, no matter if you win or lose). 50 minute Rounds, best 2:3 games. Players play within age-based brackets.

Prizes:

Prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of Swiss Rounds, based on Standings. All participants receive 1 Play! Point. Championship Points will be awarded to top finishers in each Age Bracket.

NEW Rule Changes take effect 11/8/13:

1)Pokemon Catcher errata: requires a coin flip. This makes it the same as Pokemon Reversal in every way. However, the two cards have different names so you cannot use Pokemon Reversal in Standard Format tournaments.

2) the coin flip to determine who has the first turn is done **before** drawing your opening hand, the winner of the coin flip gets to decide who will go first, and the player going first cannot attack on the first turn.

3) you cannot use both Professor Juniper and Professor Sycamore in your deck.
