Dream Wizards hosts Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments on a regular basis.
Most tournaments are held on store premises. Periodically, larger events, such as a Sneak Previews, Regionals, and Shonen Jumps are held at another location.

NOTE: Seating for 275 players in this comfortable location.

Deck Registration Required:

Prepare your Deck Registration list in advance by using either the offical form or any 8.5 x 11 inch paper. Include your Name, then list the quantity & name of all cards in your deck.

Tournament Description:

Regional Qualifier tournaments are run using Swiss Format, which means we will most likely play 7 rounds. Players are not eliminated during the event, and can play through all Swiss rounds. Once all Swiss rounds have been completed, the top 8 players will play one round of Single Elimination, to determine a Top 4.

Prizes:

All players receive 5 packs for playing.
The Top 8 players will receive a 2010 Regional Qualifier Game Mat.
The number of Invitation to the National Championship determined by attendance.
Based on past experience, It is most likely that we will give out 32 invites.

  • 4-32 players: 4 invites
  • 33-64 players:  8 invites
  • 65-128 players: 16 invites
  • 129+ players: 32 invites

  • Top 8: 2010 Regional Qualifier Game Mat
  • Top 4: 2010 Regional Qualifier Card Binder

Dream Wizards Sponsored Yu-Gi-Oh Tournaments

These tournaments are recommended and open to players of all ages. The tournament will consist of 4 or 5 rounds; Players may participate in every round no matter if they win or lose. The length of time a tournament takes varies based on the number of participants; generally, the length of a store-sponsored tournament is 2 to 3.5 hours. All Constructed tournaments use the "Advanced Format", and the "Limited and Forbidden" Lists apply to your deck. The most up to date banned and restricted lists are Found Here:

Once the kinks are out of the COSI software we will begin to use it to report tournaments. Please bring COSI ID#s with you! Or, get one free if you are new.

Yu-Gi-Oh Team Dueling Tournament:

2-Player-Team Battles with a Team Total of 8000 Life points, plus you can tribute your teammates monsters for your own! IF you do not have a team mate find one at the the beginning of the day. A minimum of 4 teams is needed to sanction this event.

Fee:

$10 per team member+ tax, Coupons NOT accepted.

Prizes:

Booster packs. If 12 or more teams participate the following prize structure will be used: 1st place team-18 packs, 2nd place team-10 packs 3-4th place teams-6 packs, 1 pack for all other players. ----- If less than 12 teams register the prizes will be based on attendance.

Team Dueling Basics:

Matches are between 2 teams, 2 players per team.
Team mates sit next to each other with the opposing team on the opposite side of the table.
Each player has 5 Monster Card Zones, 5 Spell & Trap Card Zones, and uses his/her own Deck, Fusion & Side Deck, Graveyard.
The zones from both players on a team create 1 large playing field, 1 field per team.
Only 1 Field Spell Card may be in play at a time.
Limited Cards are counted per player, not per team.
A player can control only his/her cards during a turn.
Teammates may talk & share information.
A team loses if either player on that team cannot draw a card when required or life = 0.

Constructed "Pack-for-all" Tournament:

Bring your tournament deck and duel.Please bring a deck that conforms to the latest rules published for competitive play.

Fee:

$10+ tax.

Prizes:

Yu-Gi-Oh boosters (or,  when available- tournament packs) awarded to top finishers based on attendance. All players receive at least 1 pack.For example, if 24 players participate the following prize structure will be used:  9 packs for 1st place, 6 packs for 2nd place, 3 packs for 3rd-4th place.

Yu-Gi-Oh Constructed, "Box Prize" Tournament:

Bring your tournament legal deck and duel. A minimum of 8 players is needed to sanction this event.

Fee:

$10+ tax.

Prizes:

1st Place wins 24 packs of the latest Yu-Gi-Oh cards.
If attendance is higher than 12 players then additional packs will be awarded to top finishers.
In this particular tournament style only top finisher(s) wins pack(s).

Yu-Gi-Oh! Playmat Tournament

A competitive event with a large pool of prizes

Description:

Players bring a deck that conforms to the latest rules published for competitive play. Tournament Structure is Modified Swiss with Top 8 single elimination final rounds. Finalists are determined by player ranking after the completion of Swiss rounds. For those unfamiliar with Swiss, the number of rounds of play will be determined by attendance, and players can participate in each round, win or lose.

Prizes:

All players receive at least 1 pack.
Prize packs will be the newest product available.
Additional Yu-Gi-Oh boosters awarded to top finishers based on attendance.
For every 8 people who register we will give away one playmat to top finishers.
If more than 24 people register, the third playmat will be randomly awarded to a participant.

Deck Lists:

Everybody is required to hand in a Deck List. We recommend that you prepare your Deck Registration list in advance, at home. Use any 8.5 x 11 inch sheet of paper. It should include your Name and the quantity and name of each and every card that makes up your deck.

Store Rules—Yu-Gi-Oh! Tournaments: (Updated 1-24-07)

Store rules apply to tournaments held at Dream Wizards retail store. They do NOT apply to Premiere events, such as Regionals or Sneak Previews that are held in other locations.

  1. Management reserves the right to remove any person from the store who is not actively enrolled in a tournament.
  2. Trading may only be conducted among players enrolled in the tournament.
  3. Anyone aged 14 or older (including a parent) is not permitted to trade with younger kids.
  4. A player who breaks Store rules will be dropped from the tournament with no refund, and asked to leave the store.
  5. Players age 10 and under MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times; a guardian must be of legal age.
  6. Players are responsible for their own possessions. Management takes no responsibility for player's cards or other items that choose to bring with them to the tournament.
