Shonen Jump's Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Championship Weekend of Events

This weekend will feature a series of tournaments that includes a Yu-Gi-Oh! Shonen Jump Championship, a Yu-Gi-Oh! Regional Qualifier, Yu-Gi-Oh side event tournaments with a great Grand Prize, and 2 VS PCQs. Please check the schedule that follows for dates and starting times. All tournaments are open events, and all players are welcome to participate. You must pay a separate fee for each tournament that you enter.

Shonen Jump Championship Information
Be a part of the Shonen Jump's Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Championship and duel for unprecedented prestige and prizes!

Registration:
Saturday, April 8: 8:30 AM to 10 AM. Play begins at 10:20

Event Fee:
$20, Cash only. No checks or credit cards.

UDE Numbers:
Please Bring your UDE# with you! If you do not already have a UDE# one will be given to you free of charge.

Deck Registration:
Everybody is required to hand in a Deck List. We recommend that you prepare your Deck Registration list in advance, at home. Use the Yu-Gi-Oh! Constructed Deck List or you may use any 8.5 x 11 inch sheet of paper. It should include your Name, UDE number, and the quantity and name of each and every card that makes up your deck.

Format:
We will be enforcing the "Advanced Format Rules."
Your deck must have a minimum of 40 cards. If you choose to have a side deck, it must contain exactly 15 cards. You may use no more than 3 copies of any card. Cards that appear on the Limited or Semi-limited list have limits below 3.

Tournament Structure:
There will be 9 or 10 Swiss rounds, and then a cut to the Top 8. For those unfamiliar with Swiss, the number of rounds of play will be determined by attendance, and players can participate in each round, win or lose, until the Swiss rounds are over. After Swiss rounds, the Top 8 players will participate in Single Elimination finals. Please note: Swiss rounds will take place on Saturday, April 8, and Top 8 Finals will take place on Sunday, April 9, beginning at 10 AM.

Card Sleeve Policy:
If you choose to use them, sleeves must be opaque, solid colored, unillustrated, and not overly reflective or holographic. Your sleeves should also be free of defects, excess wear, and other noticeable markings. You may only use one sleeve per card. All of your sleeves must be exactly the same. If you have any questions or concerns about the legality of your sleeves, please talk with the head judge of the event.

Prizes:
1st Place: a state-of-the-art laptop computer, a spectacular trophy, the new prize card: "Des Volstgalph," an invitation to the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG National Championship.
2nd Place: iPod 60GB Photo, Nintendo DS, an invitation to the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG National Championship.
3rd - 4th Places: Sony PSP Handheld, an invitation to the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG National Championship.
5th - 8th Places: Nintendo DS handheld, an invitation to the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG National Championship.
9th - 32nd and beyond: Yu-Gi-Oh! booster packs.
Note: You can also win the new prize card, "Des Volstgalph" by competing in side events (see "Side Events" below).


Yu-Gi-Oh! Side Events
The Grand Prize for the best Side Event Player for the weekend is a Des Volstgalph card!
Read below to learn how you can win by playing in multiple side events on Saturday and Sunday.
Registration:
Sign up on a continuous basis starting at 11 AM each day:
Saturday: 11 AM - 7 PM
Sunday: 11 AM - 1 PM
Side Event - Grand Prize Finals: 3 PM
All side events are 8-player tournaments. A new tournament will begin each time 8 players register.
Fee:
$7 per event
Prize:
8 packs split between the top finishers of each event.
Best Side Events Player Grand Prize Play-Off Point System:
Players will be awarded one or more drawing ticket for each side event they register for. The winner of each side event is also given additional tickets equal to the number of initially awarded tickets. Tickets can be earned by playing in any side events offered on Saturday and Sunday until 3 PM.
On Sunday at 3 PM, the 8 players who are selected in the drawing will compete in a single-elimination tournament for the grand prize - the Des Volstgalph card!


Yu-Gi-Oh Regional Qualifier

Sunday, April 9th
Saturday - Pre-registration:
Pre-registration for the Regionals Tournament is available Saturday, April 8, exclusively at the event site, while Shonen Jump Championship side events are in progress, from 3 to 7PM; registration resumes Sunday.
Sunday - Registration:
10 AM to 10:45 AM, play begins at 11 AM.

All players are welcome! You do not need tournament experience to play! Two separate tournaments offered on the same date!

Sealed Format Registration: 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Deck construction begins at 11:00 AM.
Fee:
$25. The fee includes 5 boosters per player.
Format:
Marvel X-Men (Limited). Players construct a deck of at least 30 cards using 5 Marvel X-Men booster packs.
Tournament Description:
This is a modified Swiss tournament with a minimum of 4 rounds, plus single-elimination finals. Players are paired each round, win or lose, unless they decide to drop from the tournament. The actual number of rounds will be determined based on attendance. During Swiss rounds players compete in one-game matches, with a 30-minute time limit. Single Elimination Finals are up to three games per round.
Prizes:
1st place receives an invitation to the Pro Circuit (10 PC credits) and $250.
2nd place receives a full box of booster packs and 5 PC credits.
3rd- 4th receive 2 PC credits each.
5th - 10th receive 1 PC credit each.
Pack prizes are based on overall attendance and are guaranteed to everyone in the elimination rounds. The Top 8 also receive a Vs. shirt and the current season promo card.


VS TCG Pro-Circuit Qualifier (PCQ) Constructed Format
All players are welcome! You do not need tournament experience to play! Two separate tournaments offered on the same date!

Constructed Format Registration: 11 to 11:50. Tournament Play begins at 12 Noon.

Deck Registration:
Deck Lists are required. We recommend that you prepare your Deck List in advance.
Format:
Golden Age Constructed. Players come prepared with a deck that is made up of at least 60 cards. Golden Age Constructed decks may include cards from all sets. Please Note: Overload is banned.
Tournament Description:

Dealer Tables
Dealers will be on site to sell Yu-Gi-Oh packs, individual cards and supplies (sleeves, deck boxes, etc.) Players are welcome to trade cards. However, only authorized dealers may sell at our events. Anyone else selling cards will be asked to leave, no exceptions. The use of suitcases, handcarts, luggage carts, etc. to be used for the purpose of transporting excessive amounts of trade stock is not permitted.

Judges
We are looking for lots of judging staff for this event. Judging opportunities are available for individuals with at least Level 1 certification in Yu-Gi-Oh! rules knowledge. Level 2 tests may be arranged for those on staff. For more details, please contact: laurel@dreamwizards.com.

Players, please bring counters and a pen and paper to keep track of life totals!
Players are welcome to trade cards. However, anyone who buys, sells or solicits other players to do either will be asked to leave the event without refund. Dream Wizards does not allow the use of suitcases, handcarts, luggage carts, etc. to be used for the purpose of transporting excessive amounts of trade stock.
